Congratulations to Michael Thomas, the 2012 winner of the Cheshire's Lights of Hope Scholarship!
Michael has logged countless volunteer hours benefiting his community through his work with the Knights of Columbus Squire Program, Read to Tots, Future Business Leaders of America, Relay for Life, and the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department. Last fall, he earned the Boy Scout of America’s highest rank upon completion of his Eagle Scout project - a garden at St Bridget School memorializing Nick LaTorraca, a young graduate who had recently succumbed to a rare form of cancer. All of these elements coupled with his record of academic achievement and consistent work experience confirmed Michael’s designation as the 2012 Scholarship Winner for Cheshire’s Lights of Hope. The son of James and Karen Thomas of Cheshire, Michael attends Fairfield University.
