More than 50,000 luminaries throughout the town and hundreds of volunteers to shine a light on importance of neighbors helping neighbors; Event raises in excess of $70,000; local charities presented donations.
WHAT: Hundreds of volunteers and supporters will gather on the First Congregational Church green for the 14th annual Cheshire’s Lights of Hope luminary event, an annual celebration of neighbors helping neighbors that will light the town with over 50,000 luminaries.

DETAILS:
- Representatives from the Cheshire Community Food Pantry, Cheshire Youth and Social Services, and the Petit Family Foundation will each receive a monetary donation to help members of the Cheshire community. The funds also go toward two $2,000 college scholarships for High School seniors, awarded based on volunteer work within the Cheshire community.
- Since 2005 and through this event by Cheshire’s Lights of Hope has raised more than $910,000 for local charities.
- Following the check presentation, and throughout the day, luminaries will be set up along the Mile of Hope on Route 10 from Cheshire High School to Cheshire Academy, by hundreds of students and community volunteers.

- To shine a light on how family, friends and neighbors light the night, the "Show Us Your Glow"Sweepstakes featuring photos of neighborhoods celebrating the event, will become part of a traveling art exhibit that will be displayed in public spaces . For details go to:

-New this year, a Cheshire's Lights of Hope Snapchat filter has been created, sponsored by Cheshire Pizza & Ale, to engage a wider audience. The filter can be downloaded near the town green for free and used to share images of the event near the town center.
